Ahern asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the charges, if any, which will apply for compulsory MOT testing; when this will commence; the reason there will be a possible charge of £42 compared to a £17 charge in Northern Ireland; the reason it appears there will be a further fee to verify repairs have taken place whereas there is no charge in the North; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
