73 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Defence the discussions, if any, he has had with the Chief State Solicitor with a view to his Department gaining access to an insurance link service; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16734/99]
My Department has been in ongoing contact with the Chief State Solicitor's office in relation to this matter. I have been advised that the Chief State Solicitor's office, in consultation with the Attorney General's Office is, at present considering possible legal implications arising from joining the insurance link service. These offices expect to be in a position to provide advice in this regard in the near future.
