125 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for Defence the medals, decorations and other awards which can be bestowed on members of the Defence Forces; the number of each conferred in the past 12 months; the plans, if any, he has to further add to the number of recognition awards in view of the advent of the millennium; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The award of medals to members of the Defence Forces and the conditions of service attaching to their award are provided for in Defence Force regulations. There are no proposals to add to the current list of medals awarded under these regulations.
The portion of the reply relating to the award of medals in the past 12 months is in the form of a tabular statement which I propose to circulate in the Official Report.
