143 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Health and Children if a person (details supplied) in County Sligo will be called for her ilestomy operation in St. Vincent's Hospital in view of the fact that her condition has deteriorated; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16840/99]

The provision of medical treatment in this instance is the responsibility of St Vincent's Hospital. I have asked the chief executive officer of the hospital to investigate this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.
