Dublin Port Company is the responsible authority for the operation , maintenance and development of Bulloch Harbour.
The Harbours Act, 1996, provides for the transfer, by order, of Bulloch Harbour and Sandycove Harbour from Dublin Port Company to Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council with the consent of the Minister for the Environment and Local Government. I am awaiting the Minister's consent to the making of an appropriate order.
In 1997, Dublin Port Company installed a new crane at Bulloch Harbour. My Department provided a grant of £25,000 to Dublin Port towards the cost of this installation.
I understand from Dublin Port Company that discussions are ongoing with Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council regarding the nature of works to be carried out at the harbours prior to the transfer of the property, rights and liabilities of the company to Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council.
