Ceist:

221 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Public Enterprise if she has used section 12 of the Public Service Management Act, 1997, which allows for appropriate action to be taken on cross-departmental issues in a structured way; and the areas of work of her Department which are touching on the work of other Departments in respect of which cross-departmental arrangements might be appropriate. There are many areas of work across the spectrum of transport, energy and communications, which involve my officials working closely with other Departments. For the most part, these practical arrangements work very well. However, while I have not, as yet, used section 12 of the Public Service Management Act, 1997, I am keeping the matter under regular review.
