Vol. 508 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

306 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo has not received a 1998 extensification grant in view of the fact there have been no changes to his circumstances since 1997. [17680/99]

The person named submitted an area aid application for 2.87 hectares. He submitted a 1998 suckler cow premium application for four suckler cows but was not paid suckler cow premium as he has no suckler cow quota. No application was received under the 1998 special beef premium scheme.

Extensification premium is paid on all animals paid under the suckler cow and special beef premium schemes if the stocking density on the holding is less than 1.4 livestock units per hectare. As the person named had no entitlement to payment under the suckler cow or special beef premium scheme he has therefore no entitlement to 1998 extensification premium payments.
