Vol. 508 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

330 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if 1999 cattle and sheep headage premia for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo has issued to the deceased herd owner's solicitor; and, if not, the reason for the delay. [18050/99]

Once probate of will or letters of administration has been submitted to the Department, payment of outstanding amounts due under the 1999 headage and ewe premium schemes will be issued to the estate of the deceased.

Ceist:

331 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will issue 1998 sheep headage to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo in view of the fact that when the inspection was carried out the animals which were declared missing had strayed into a neighbour's land. [18052/99]

The person named was paid in full in respect of the eight sheep he applied for under the 1998 sheep headage scheme. However, under the 1998 ewe premium scheme, he applied on the basis of 36 sheep but only 26 sheep were presented for inspection. The person named who was present at this inspection, during which the inspecting officer checked all his declared lands as well as adjoining fields, was unable to account for the missing sheep. Consequently, under the terms and conditions of the scheme he was deemed ineligible for payment.

Ceist:

332 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive 1999 cattle and sheep headage and premia payments. [18053/99]

The applications submitted by the person named under the 1999 cattle headage scheme and the 1999 sheep headage scheme cannot be processed for payment until his 1999 area aid application is finalised. Additional plots declared by him in 1999 are now being digitised.

The person named applied on 12 ewes under the 1999 ewe premium scheme. While his first advance entitlement under the scheme was £124.86, an amount of £57.38 was recouped due to an overpayment to him under the 2997 special beef premium ten month scheme. Payment of £67.48 issued to him on 11 June 1999.

In accordance with EU regulations, advance payments under the 1999 suckler cow premium scheme will commence at the beginning of November 1999.

333 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive a 1998 extensification payment. [18055/99]

The person named declared 7.01 hectares on his 1998 area aid application.

On checking, a discrepancy was found in relation to one parcel. To date evidence of ownership has not been provided in relation to the area under query. His claim cannot be processed further until this matter is resolved.
