Vol. 508 No. 1

Written Answers. - Departmental Strategy.

John Bruton

Ceist:

370 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Finance if he has used section 12 of the Public Service Management Act, 1997, which allows for appropriate action to be taken on cross-departmental issues in a structured way; and the areas of work of his Department which are touching on the work of other Departments in respect of which cross-departmental arrangements might be appropriate. [17363/99]

I have made no order under section 12 of the Public Service Management Act, 1997.

While there are many areas of work in my Department which touch on the work of other Departments and many formal and information interdepartmental working arrangements, I have not identified any specific areas of work where it would be appropriate for me to use the provisions of section 12 of the Public Service Management Act, 1997. However, it is possible that in the light of experience, changing priorities or circumstances, areas might be identified as appropriate in the future.
