Ceist:

530 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan is still awaiting an urgent hip operation in spite of being diagnosed in June 1998; if he will be attended to as a matter of urgency; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The provision of medical treatment in this case is the statutory responsibility of the North-Eastern Health Board in the first instance. I have asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.
