Ahern asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the position on the claim of ex-employees of Irish Hospital Sweepstakes for the implementation of Labour Court findings; the progress made on the issue since 1997; and if she will make a statement on the matter. My Department has no specific responsibility in relation to this matter.
As I indicated in an earlier reply in relation to this matter the Government is examining how the State might recognise the contribution which has been made by the Hospitals Sweepstakes pensioners. Discussions are still ongoing between the Taoiseach and myself on this matter.
