Vol. 508 No. 3

Written Answers - Speech Therapy Service.

Seán Haughey

Ceist:

218 Mr. Haughey asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will provide a speech therapist for the special language unit in St. Patrick's College, Drumcondra, Dublin 9, in view of the fact it has had no speech therapist since June 1999; if pupils with severe speech problems in this school can attend speech therapy sessions in the day; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18995/99]

The provision of speech and language therapy services is a matter for the relevant health board. In this case, the Eastern Health Board advises that a speech therapist is due to commence employment in St. Patrick's national school, Drumcondra, Dublin 9 in mid-October 1999.
