259 Mrs. Owen asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if funding will be made available to the Irish Seal Sanctuary to continue the development of the sanctuary at its new site donated by Fingal County Council; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18809/99]

Olivia Mitchell

Ceist:

289 Ms O. Mitchell asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he will provide grant aid to the Irish Seal Sanctuary to provide a national seal sanctuary as Ireland is the only coastal EU nation without such a facility which could also be used as an educational and research facility. [18851/99]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 249, 259 and 289 together.

There are no funds at my disposal from which such a grant could appropriately be made.
