178 Mr. Higgins (Dublin West) asked the Minister for Finance if he will suspend all public works contracts with a construction firm (details supplied) pending a comprehensive investigation into the alleged operation of black economy practices on building sites operated by this firm. [19535/99]

I am not aware of any circumstance which would justify the termination of any contract which the firm in question has with the Office of Public Works.

However, if the Deputy is aware of any such circumstance, I would be pleased if he would pass on the information in order that the matter can be fully investigated.
