99 Mr. M. Brady asked the Minister for Finance if he has approved the number of staff employed by the Office of the Director of Telecommunications Regulation as required by the Telecommunications (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1997. [20162/99]
The ODTR was established in mid-1997 under the Telecommunications (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1996. At that time I approved a staffing level of 59 for the office. In May 1998, following a review of the staffing requirements of the office, I approved a further 36 staff, bringing the total approved staffing to 95.
