51 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will respond positively to the letter dated 13 July 1999 from the Western Health Board to the secondary care division of his Department regarding limb fitting services for patients from the board's area. [22971/99]
I understand from the board's correspondence of 13 July that it is undertaking a review of its limb fitting service with a view to assessing the scope for any necessary reorganisation and rationalisation in the context of its strategy for the development of vascular surgery services. My Department is awaiting the outcome of this review before agreeing a policy for future service delivery in this area.
