Written Answers. - Sports Funding.
The Minister for Finance has no function in this matter. Following the enactment of the Sports Council Act, 1999, in July of this year, responsibility for the funding of all national governing bodies of sport, was transferred from the Department of Tourism, Sport and Recreation to the council. The issue of funding for the FAI is now an operational matter for the Sports Council.
