Vol. 511 No. 6

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Denis Naughten

Ceist:

209 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if he will reconsider his decision to refuse the control of farmyard pollution grant to a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon in view of the fact that the majority of his lands is rented and some of his land is unsuitable for wintering cattle; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25205/99]

Under the eligibility conditions of the national scheme for the control of farm pollution, an applicant cannot have more than 100 income units based on farm enterprises and including any off-farm income. In the case of the person named, the income units calculation amounted to 108 units, thus rendering him ineligible for aid under the national scheme.
