Ceist:

225 Mr. Crawford asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the number of permanent agricultural officers working with the district veterinary offices on a county by county basis; if he has satisfied himself that there are sufficient agricultural officers available to carry out the necessary work; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25299/99]

The following shows the numbers of technical agricultural officers grades assigned to district veterinary office duties on a permanent basis.

The deployment of staff at all offices is kept under ongoing review with the aim of ensuring the best possible service to its farming clients.
