412 Mr. M. Higgins asked the Minister for Education and Science the position on the streamlining and simplifying of his Department's teacher employment documentation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25389/99]

The teacher employment documentation of my Department is updated by circular letter when new or revised schemes and changes to the conditions of service of teachers are introduced. The managerial authorities of schools and the teachers unions are consulted regarding the details of the circular letters.

Pamphlets outlining and explaining the details of a number of schemes and their operation regarding employment were prepared for primary teachers recently. Copies of the pamphlets were circulated to the managerial authorities of all primary schools.

I am also pleased to inform the Deputy that documentation regarding teacher employment is being updated on the website of my Department on a regular basis. It is proposed to create a new website in the near future and to expand the documentation on teacher employment.
