118 Mrs. Owen asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will arrange for a meeting with psychotherapists and his Department officials who are preparing the proposed paramedics legislation; and the serious consideration, if any, he will give to the case this group of professionals will make to his Department regarding including them in future legislation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I presume that the Deputy is referring to the proposed legislation on statutory registration which is being proposed for certain allied health professionals.

I would like to inform the Deputy that in recent months officials of my Department met with the professional body representing psychotherapists and discussed the situation with them.
