Vol. 512 No. 5

Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

Liam Aylward

Ceist:

126 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Education and Science if, in view of the possible delay in having title documents prepared in respect of land for the provision of a new building (details supplied) where finance has already been approved by his Department, the allocation will be carried over to 2000. [26514/99]

Tenders have been received in respect of the proposed new building and upon satisfactory completion of title documents, it is my intention to place the contract immediately thereafter. Therefore, the Deputy can be assured that finance will be available in 2000 to bring this project to completion.

Austin Currie

Ceist:

127 Mr. Currie asked the Minister for Education and Science the proposals, if any, he has to establish a new primary school in the Diswellstown, Carpenterstown and Porterstown areas of Dublin 15; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26515/99]

My Department is, at present, closely examining the need for additional accommodation at first and second level in Dublin 15, in the light of the very significant housing developments in that area. The particular needs of the Diswellstown, Carpenterstown and Porterstown areas form part of that consideration.

A decision will be taken as to the type, size and location of any additional provision required when this examination has been completed.

Cecilia Keaveney

Ceist:

128 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Education and Science the position in relation to an extension to Cranford national school, Cranford, County Donegal; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26536/99]

An application has recently been received from this school for grant aid towards additional accommodation. When this application has been assessed the matter will be progressed further.
