211 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Education and Science if, further to Parliamentary Question No. 215 of 11 November 1999 concerning a school boundary fence, a person (details supplied) has been contacted and agreement reached; and if he will bring this matter to a speedy conclusion. In response to a request for the provision of partial fencing at the school referred to by the Deputy, my Department commissioned a consultant architect to report on the matter.
The long-term educational requirements of the area that this school serves are also under review presently with consultations ongoing with the school's managerial authorities.
The consultant architect is now being asked to consider the provision of fencing at this school in the context of the overall development plans for the school.
