Paul Bradford

Ceist:

67 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Health and Children the consideration, if any, he has given to the pre-budget submission received from an association (details supplied); and the plans, if any, he has to make available essential funding to provide the additional services required to those who have suffered serious head injuries. [26667/99]

Alan Shatter

Ceist:

134 Mr. Shatter asked the Minister for Health and Children the consideration, if any, he has given to the pre-budget submission received from an association (details supplied); and the plans, if any, he has to make available essential funding to provide the additional services required to those who have suffered serious head injuries. [27172/99]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 67 and 134 together.

The pre-budget submission from the agency referred to by the Deputies was received in my Department on 29 November 1999. It will assist my Department and the health boards in their consideration of the needs of those who have suffered serious head injury.

The established mechanism by which decisions are reached to support various services for persons with a disability is through the regional co-ordinating committee for physical and sensory disability services. It is in this context that future support for services provided by the agency mentioned will be determined.
