Vol. 513 No. 1

Written Answers. - Waste Management.

Nora Owen

Ceist:

164 Mrs. Owen asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the consideration, if any, he has given concerning licences which would be required if Baleally Tiphead Lusk, was to be extended as recommended in the Waste Management Strategy for Dublin, November 1999; the discussions, if any, he has had with Fingal County Council in this regard; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1308/00]

It is my understanding that the Baleally tiphead Lusk is to be extended inland and as such my Department would have no direct involvement. I understand that an EPA waste licence will be required for any such extension. In the event that the extension resulted in leaching or discharge onto the foreshore a foreshore licence would also be required.
