I wish to announce for the information of the House that the commission constituted as provided for in Article 14.2 of the Constitution and acting on my advice has accepted the resignation of Deputy Andrews as a member of the Government. Pursuant to section 4(1) of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act, 1946, I have assigned the Department of Foreign Affairs to myself. I also wish to advise the House that I will move a motion tomorrow seeking approval for the nomination of a member of the Government arising from the resignation of Deputy Andrews. In moving that motion, I look forward to paying tribute to Deputy Andrews on his outstanding contribution as a member of the Government and to dealing with any related matters.
