311 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the proposals, if any, he has received regarding the future of coursing and greyhound racing in Clonmel; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1966/00]
The development of the greyhound industry is a matter for Bord na gCon. I have not received any proposals regarding the future of coursing and greyhound racing in Clonmel. I am, however, aware of efforts being made within the industry to re-start greyhound racing in the town. Deputy Davern, Minister of State at my Department is in informal consultations with local interests in an effort to facilitate progress in the matter.
