343 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Finance the steps, if any, he will take to ensure that the assurances given in a letter dated 21 December 1998, concerning full compliance with planning permission conditions (details supplied), are honoured in full; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister of State at the Department of Finance (Mr. Cullen):

The Office of Public Works will comply fully with the conditions of the planning permission of Westmeath County Council and, following consultation with the local authority and local residents, will take the necessary steps to ensure that the road, pillars and garden that are part of the estate, are made safe.
