484 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children the funds, if any, provided in the national development plan for the development of St. Luke's Hospital site, Kilkenny; if the future plans for the hospital form part of the acute hospitals' policy as outlined in his speech on 16 November 1999; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The South-Eastern Health Board has established a project team to consider the development requirements of St. Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny, in the context of the board's strategic plan for the development of services in Kilkenny city. My Department is represented on this project team and is involved, in this context, in the detailed planning work required to progress this development. In relation to this my Department will now be engaging in detailed consultations with the South-Eastern Health Board on their overall priorities in the context of the national development plan.
