Ceist:

560 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he will approve funding at the earliest date for the provision of an extension to the fire station at Callan, County Kilkenny, where there are no facilities for personnel. [1781/00]

Minister for the Environment and Local Government (Mr. Dempsey):

An application submitted by Kilkenny County Council on 19 November 1999 for approval in principle to the provision of an extension to Callan fire station is currently under examination in my Department. A decision on the application will be notified to the council in due course.
