Vol. 513 No. 1

Written Answers. - Company Closures.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

625 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands the position following the closure of a company (details supplied) in County Mayo; if this company is to reopen; and the contact, if any, she has had with it. [1003/00]

I refer the Deputy to my reply to Question No. 712 of 29 September 1999. The matter in question is solely one for Údarás na Gaeltachta. However, I understand from an tÚdarás that a liquidator was appointed to the business and that it will not be re-opened; the principle of the company being liquidated has established a new company in the same industry but with reduced employment; space in the Carrowtigue area has been let, without rent subsidy by an tÚdarás to the new company; and five local persons are employed by this new company.
