Ceist:

699 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation if he has received an appli cation from an organisation (details supplied) for a grant under the recreation amenity grants scheme; if so, if this application meets all the criteria laid down for benefit under the scheme; and if he will provide some financial assistance towards the cost of the proposed development. The 2000 sports capital programme was advertised in early December 1999. The closing date for the receipt of completed application forms is Friday, 11 February 2000.

Should the organisation in question submit an application, it will be considered when grant allocations for 2000 are being made under the programme.

700 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation if he will respond positively to the application by a retirement group (details supplied) for a grant to extend its premises and activities at Distillery Road, Westport, County Mayo. [1132/00]
