Michael Noonan

Ceist:

719 Mr. Noonan asked the Minister for Education and Science if a full-time resource teacher will be assigned to a school (details supplied) in County Limerick; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1098/00]

The issue raised by the Deputy is being examined by my Department and the school will be advised of the outcome as soon as this examination is completed.

Ceist:

720 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Education and Science if teachers who were not offered permanent posts under the PCW and are on panels administered by county vocational education committees will get priority under the scheme recently announced. [1099/00]

I recently announced the creation of 800 new second level teaching posts in the next school year. Permanent posts arising in the vocational sector as a result of this announcement will be filled in the normal way, namely through public competition.

Bernard J. Durkan

721 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science when a personal assistant will be appointed to cater for two special needs pupils at Johnstownbridge national school, County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1218/00]

I am pleased to inform the Deputy that my Department has very recently sanctioned the appointment of a special needs assistant to the school in question to cater for the children to which he refers.
