128 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the situation regarding the provision of an upgraded water and sewerage scheme to service Knock International Airport; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1451/00]
A preliminary report for a water and sewerage scheme to serve an industrial park at Knock International Airport was received from Mayo County Council last month and is under consideration.
The water scheme is ninth and the sewerage scheme eleventh on the list of projects submitted by Mayo County Council in response to my Department's request for local authorities to undertake fresh assessments of the need for capital works in their areas and to prioritise their proposals on the basis of the assessments. The priority lists will be taken into account in the framing of water services investment programmes for this and future years under the national development plan 2000-06.
