Vol. 513 No. 4

Written Answers. - Control of Farm Pollution Scheme.

Denis Naughten

Ceist:

129 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon was refused the control of farmyard pollution grant due to the fact that his earnings were above the maximum off-farm income limit even though this income was earned outside of this State; if his decision will be re-considered; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2772/00]

The persons concerned are joint applicants under the national scheme for the control of farm pollution. Accordingly, the eligibility conditions of the scheme must be met by both applicants.

On the basis of off-farm income documentation submitted, the aggregate of the income units of the applicants is in excess of the maximum upper limit of 100 income units allowed under the scheme. The application is therefore ineligible under the scheme.
