148 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Finance the number of female civil servants who were obliged to resign from the Civil Service from 1950 up until the lifting of the marriage bar in 1973; the number of those persons of pensionable age; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2709/00]

The information sought by the Deputy is not to hand. My Department is carrying out research into our archives to ascertain whether the relevant information can be obtained. When these researches have been completed, my Department will be in touch with the Deputy in relation to this matter.
