Vol. 513 No. 4

Written Answers. - Hospital Services.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

177 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a consultative supportive therapy service for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo, as promised by the Western Health Board, has not materialised, particularly in view of the fact he has only been seen on two occasions since November 1999; and if his Department will fund private speech therapy costs for this child in order that his needs can be adequately met. [2808/00]

The provision of speech and language therapy services in any individual case is a matter for the relevant health board. Accordingly, the Deputy's question has been referred to the chief executive officer, Western Health Board with a request that she examine the query and reply directly to the Deputy, as a matter of urgency.
