Ceist:

303 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Health and Children when a person (details supplied) in County Limerick will be called for a cataract operation in view of the fact he is awaiting this operation for over three years and his eyesight is rapidly deteriorating. [3270/00]

The provision of medical treatment in this instance is the responsibility of the Mid-Western Health Board. I have asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
