157 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Finance, further to parliamentary Question No. 212 of 2 February 2000, the status of negotiations in regard to the site acquisition for a Garda station at Leixlip, County Kildare; if negotiations are concluded or ongoing in this regard; if agreement has been reached or is attainable for a satisfactory conclusion of this proposal; and if he will make a statement on the matter. 172 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Finance if arrangements for the provision of a new Garda station at Leixlip, County Kildare, have been concluded; if agreement has been reached in respect of site location; if the discussions are ongoing or anticipated in respect of site acquisition in the near future; if he has satisfied himself that his Department has vigorously pursued its objectives in this regard; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I propose to take Questions Nos. 157, 172 and 173 together.

The Commissioners of Public Works have been advised by Kildare County Council that details of the site available for the Garda station will be provided within the next few weeks. I assure the Deputy that my office has done everything poss ible to bring this matter to a speedy conclusion, and will continue to do so.
