Vol. 514 No. 3

Written Answers. - Local Authority Housing.

Breeda Moynihan-Cronin

Ceist:

255 Mrs. B. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the number of shared ownership applications made to local authorities in County Kerry in 1998 and 1999; and the terms of reference in this regard. [4196/00]

Under the shared ownership scheme purchasers buy at least 40% of the value of the house and rent the remaining share from the local authority. A subsidy is available for households with incomes of up to £16,000. Information on activity under the scheme by each local authority is published in my Department's housing statistics bulletins, copies of which are available in the Oireachtas Library.
