Vol. 514 No. 3

Written Answers. - Local Authority Housing.

Bernard Allen

Ceist:

261 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he or the Minister of State at his Department have had dis cussions with the Cork city manager regarding the contents of a submission made during the recent Cabinet visit to Hollyhill, Cork, regarding the conditions of houses on Harbour View Road and the details submitted by a person (details supplied); and the steps, if any, he will take to deal with the appalling condition of some of the houses. [4221/00]

I am aware of the submission referred to by the Deputy. I understand Cork Corporation has engaged consultants to prepare a master plan for the regeneration of the area. This plan, which will be the subject of consultation with residents, will provide for replacement of windows and doors in the houses on Harbour View Road, Hollyhill, as a matter of priority. As soon as my Department receives the plan, it will be given every consideration.
