Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

Bernard J. Durkan

Ceist:

333 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science further to Parliamentary Question No. 463 of 8 February 2000, the extent to which the application in respect of Scoil Ignaid, Naas, County Kildare, has been processed; the remaining developmental or administrative issues to be dealt with; the timetable in this regard; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4256/00]

The school has been authorised to appoint a design team in respect of the application for an extension. Thereafter the application will progress through the stages of architectural planning. It is not possible at this juncture to be specific as to the length of time involved.

334 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science further to Parliamentary Question No. 464 of 8 February 2000, the extent to which the application in respect of Scoil Dara, Kilcock, County Kildare, has been processed; the remaining developmental or administrative issues to be dealt with; the timetable in this regard; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4257/00]

There are a number of site issues to be resolved in relation to the school in question and these are being taken up with the local authority. I can assure the Deputy that this case will continue to be dealt with as quickly as possible having regard to the large number of school building projects on hand within my Department.

Ceist:

335 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science further to Parliamentary Question No. 461 of 8 February 2000, the extent to which the application in respect of Maynooth post-primary school, County Kildare, has been processed; the remaining developmental or administrative issues to be dealt with; the timetable in this regard; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4258/00]

This application was initially being processed on the basis of a likely enrolment of 800 pupils. However, County Kildare VEC has requested that my Department consider providing for increased enrolment of 900 pupils.

Following that consideration the application will progress through the stages of architectural planning. It is not possible at this juncture to be specific as to the length of time involved.
