Ceist:

342 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Education and Science the steps he is taking to provide proper facilities at Coláiste Eamon Rís, Callan, County Kilkenny, to accommodate a person (details supplied); if a powered hoist and easifit sling will be provided as a matter of urgency; if he will comment on a letter of 9 November 1999 to the school board from the South Eastern Health Board; and the reason for the delay in dealing with the issues. Minister for Education and Science (Dr. Woods):

An application for the provision of an electrically powered hoist and a sling was received from the school in December 1999. This application is being processed at present.

The technical staff of my Department have been asked to assess the structural issues raised by the South Eastern Health Board.
