I have meetings with the President of the IFA on a regular basis. In recent weeks, I chaired an intensive series of meetings which involved the IFA and the Irish Meat Association during the blockade of meat plants.
I participated in a meeting between the Taoiseach and the IFA on 8 December 1999 during which the arrangements of delivery of direct payments to farmers and the outlook for farm incomes were discussed.
