Vol. 515 No. 2

Written Answers. - Inland Waterways.

Enda Kenny

Ceist:

119 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Finance if weed removal will be carried out in 2000 on Lough Lannagh, Castlebar, County Mayo; if his attention has been drawn to the extent of the problem; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5405/00]

Lough Lannagh is the first in a series of small lakes to the west of Castlebar town connected by and flowing into the Castlebar River. Each year as part of the maintenance programme on the Moy catchment drainage scheme, weed-cutting operations are carried out on these lakes. This weed-cutting is scheduled to be carried out in mid-summer this year.
