Comhairle na nOspidéal is the statutory body with responsibility to regulate the number and type of consultant appointments in hospitals providing services under the Health Act, 1970. Comhairle na nOspidéal has provided the following information on the number of additional consultant posts, 53 in total, approved in 1999; and the hospitals to which they were allocated.
