220 Mr. Currie asked the Minister for Education and Science if, further to Parliamentary Question No. 127 of 9 December 1999, the examination on the need for additional accommodation at first and second levels in Dublin 15 has been completed; if so; the results of the examination; the action, if any, he will take to remedy the serious inadequacies in the area; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The examination referred to by the Deputy is ongoing at present. This examination is focusing on the location and extent of additional demand for school places and will enable my Department to determine what the most appropriate response should be.

I expect that it will shortly be possible to come to firm conclusions with regard to areas where an immediate need has arisen.
