I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to debate an urgent matter of national importance, namely, the consequences of an announcement made outside Dáil Éireann by the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands concerning the privatisation of the national television transmission network, in view of its consequences for the public service remit of RTE and the disastrous consequences of a further 12 month delay in the advent of digital television.
Having considered the matter fully, I do not consider it to be one contemplated by Standing Order 31 and, therefore, I cannot grant leave to move the motion.
