197 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Health and Children if a person (details supplied) in County Sligo will be called for his hip operation in view of the deterioration in his condition and the fact he is unable to have any pain medication; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7007/00]

The provision of hospital services in this case is the responsibility of the hospital concerned. I have asked the patients service officer of the hospital to investigate this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.
