254 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the proposals, if any, he has to assist those persons who held long-term milk quota leases but will lose them at the end of the current quota year; if these persons will be guaranteed an equivalent amount of quota from the temporary leasing or other schemes; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Every effort will be made under the new milk quota restructuring scheme and temporary leasing scheme to accommodate to the greatest extent possible persons who held long-term leases and who, through no fault of their own, will not be in a position to continue with these leases after 1 April.
